Hours:                                 Monday to Friday : 0800-1600

Pay Rate:                             $24.97

Overarching responsibility: All day to day oversight of the security operations at 15, 16 York Street (12,14 York Street retail)

 Responsibilities Detail:
  • Continue to develop coaching skills and drive engagement.
  • Conduct and document monthly meetings with Lead Hands.
  • Collaborate with the Manager to implement and adopt new technologies to drive service and efficiencies, including CF Connect / Maximo.
  • Ensure property team identifies and execute action items to close compliance gaps and eliminate recurring deficiencies within required timelines.
  • Ensure all inspections are performed within prescribed timelines and Fire Safety Building Compliance is maintained at all time.
  • Supervise all aspects of operation of the security department at the Property including monitor dress, deportment, written reports of staff, oversee/handle sensitive, high profile situations in professional and exemplary manner.
  • Maintain currency of knowledge in security systems, equipment and techniques; schedule daily activities of staff to ensure qualified coverage of security functions by determining needs and resources and coordinates and schedules training of staff.
  • Investigate tenant complaints, thefts and suspicious activities promptly and provides feedback to tenants, the Manager and others.
  • Mediate internal staff conflicts, provide evaluations and recommendations, interview, hire and discipline if required.
  • Liaise with tenants on behalf of the Manager’s management team to resolve issues and concerns and provide advice on loss control and other security matters.
  • Experience, technical and interpersonal skills are to be of the same caliber as identified for a Security Supervisor In this agreement.
  • In addition to completion of the grade 12 certificate, a community college diploma (or equivalent business management qualification) in a security/life safety, risk management or criminology-related discipline is preferred or equivalent level of mature security experience;
  • Completion of a supervisory management program upon assignment to the account;
  • Three (3) years working in a commercial real estate security environment, in positions of increasing responsibility – or equivalent work experience; and
  • One (1) year of security supervisory experience, ideally at one of the Manager’s Properties or a property of comparably complex scope (i.e. large, mixed-use facility) – or equivalent work experience. 
Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License 
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level - C certification - Issue by a WSIB-approved provider* 
  • Covid-19 - Fully Vaccinated (Min 2 doses)
  • Must have a minimum 2+ year of experience working in Security or equivalent
  • Basic computer (keyboarding) skills are required;
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, provincial and municipal legislation and regulations required
  • Excellent interpersonal
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent discretion and overall decision-making skills
  • Tact and diplomacy in dealings with a range of settings and situations
  • Ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment
  • Flexible and adaptable in dealing with diverse situations and people
  • Prior work experience in a customer service environment 
  • Previous experience working as a security guard
