Job Skills / Requirements

As one of our Field Managers, you will be visiting our sites and staff throughout the Lower Mainland to ensure that we are providing the highest quality service to our clients. You will be working closely with our Field Operations Manager, Client Service Managers, Security Programs Managers, and department Directors relating to quality control and operational issues. You will also be providing support and supervision to Security Officers in the field, and liaising with Mobile Supervisors, Site Managers, and the Paladin Operations Centre, along with occasional interactions with clients, tenants, police and emergency services.

This position requires a Class 5 BC Drivers License and clean abstract, as you will be driving a Paladin vehicle throughout the Lower Mainland every shift.

Shifts: 1800-0600hrs
Salary: $61,000/year

Responsibilities:
  • Acts as first line quality control to ensure Paladin clients are receiving only professional, high quality security services
  • Creates and maintains a positive morale within the organization focusing on building a team environment and inclusive culture
  • Ensures necessary emergency assistance is provided to sites, including personnel, in the event of emergencies such as bomb threats, fires, violent arrests, break and enters, etc.
  • Ensures Officer safety receives priority attention at all times
  • Investigates major disciplinary events such as accidents involving company vehicles, Security Officers damaging client property, Security Officer negligence causing damage to client property and major or severe breaches of security at client premises
  • Maintains and enforces high company standards, especially with regard to appearance, deportment, and uniforming standards for all Paladin accounts, and leads by example in all regards
  • Ensures necessary checks are made at accounts that are deemed sensitive by the appropriate manager
  • Ensures all on-shift occurrences are documented in the appropriate fashion, e.g., E-mail, Incident Report, etc.
  • Reports and takes action on premises where Paladin services are below standards
  • Documents and takes action in relation to missing equipment, e.g., keys, pass cards, radios, etc. and advises the appropriate Account Manager 
  • Completes field assignments as requested by appropriate managers, including setting up and providing logistical support for short term and ad-hoc contracts 
  • Conducts WorkSafeBC accident investigations as required
  • Conducts Use of Force investigations as required
  • Performs other duties as needed to assist operational needs
Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity, preferably in a security setting
  • Valid Class BC 5 Driver’s License and clean driver's abstract
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, a working knowledge of all Paladin divisions and departments, and the ability to support, motivate, and provide corrective action to Security Officers as needed
  • Effective communication, both in writing and verbally
  • Completion of Paladin's supervisory skills training course
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel; experience using WinTeam would be considered an asset
  • Post-secondary education in security management, criminology or related discipline would be an asset
  • Excellent professionalism, discretion, and decision making abilities
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, which may include walking and/or standing for long periods
