Brian Canfield Centre is a large, complex, and high-profile site, and offers excellent opportunity for career growth. Our team faces high-stress situations daily, including medical emergencies, theft in progress, crowd control, dealing with members of the public under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and much more, in addition to regular patrols, surveillance, documentation, wayfinding, and lockups.
Reporting to the CSM, the Site Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision and direction of assigned Officers, training and orientation of new Officers, and performing additional tasks as requested by the CSM and/or client. The Supervisor will also be responsible for ensuring daily reports are submitted accurately, assist in the daily operation of the site schedule, and completing performance evaluations.
Shifts: Monday - Friday, 0700-1500hrs
Pay Rate: $26.91/hour
Status: Temporary Full-Time – Dec 1, 2025 - Dec 1, 2026 (Maternity Leave Coverage)
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the Security staff assigned to the site, and detail and act as a resource for Security issues in accordance with PSG Policy and Procedure. Ensure adherence of guidelines and standards for security staff.
- Maintain and enforce all Paladin and Client policies and procedures on site and ensure the highest standard of our security program on site
- Supervise and assist all officers with responsibilities delegated to them
- Conduct investigations and perform appropriate follow-ups when incidents and situations occur
- Ensure all reports are completed with TrackTik reporting software, and each Officer submits complete and accurate daily reports and incident reports; follow up with inaccuracies or omissions
- Review, edit and approve all site Incident Reports and escalate incidents as required
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders while representing both the client and Paladin Security with the utmost professionalism
- Assist in site orientation and training of new officers, ensuring site orientation packages and officer review tests are completed within the allotted training period
- Monitor performance and behavior of officers and document where standards are not being met.
- Responsible for scheduling and maintaining a staffing pool
- Able to make suggestions to improve the site.
- Meet biweekly with the client to discuss issues, review projects, and make suggestions
- Take afterhours calls for emergencies and scheduling issues.
- Perform other duties as needed to meet operational demands
Requirements:
- Minimum 1-year of work experience in the security industry, preferably at a large complex site
- Valid BC Security License
- Prior leadership experience, preferably in a supervisory capacity in the security industry
- Excellent customer service, leadership, professionalism, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to make immediate decisions, while maintaining composure in emergency response situations with minimal supervision
- Physical ability to complete the duties of the role, including walking up to 20km per shift, up and down stairs, or over uneven ground, indoors, outdoors, and in parkades
- Exceptional professional deportment
- Must be able to be on-call as needed for afterhours emergencies
