Job Skills / Requirements

Position: Full-Time Security Guard
Site: Ciena Corporation (5050 Innovation Dr)  
Hours: 2300-0700 - (Sunday -Thursday)
Overtime Method: ESA
Pay rate:$22.15/hour

Job Responsibilities 

• Dispatching alarm and occurrence responses
• Coordinating scheduling changes and book-offs
• Documenting all information into comprehensive reports
• Escalating situations to stakeholders as required
• Ensure necessary procedures are followed in the event of emergencies such as bomb threats, fires, and break and enters
• Liaise with local emergency services and client personnel
• Provides briefings to management, supervisors and staff as required
• Patrolling
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
• Valid (WSIB Approved) First Aid Certificate Level C 
• Authorized to legally work in Canada

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities of the job: 

• Functional ability with the Windows operating system and Windows Office software such as Excel and Word
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks 
• Familiarity with Tracktik is considered an asset
• Superior customer service and professionalism
• Above average English communication skills, both verbal and written; French is considered a strong asset 
• Ability to function independently and effectively in a dynamic environment
