SITE DESCRIPTON
This historic hospital located on Waterford Bridge Road in St. Johns was first opened in 1854. Today, the Mental Health Program uses the Waterford Hospital as its base of operations and provides mostly acute care at the facility. The Hospital also offers outpatient and community-based services which include Dialysis Services, Blood Collection and X-Ray Clinics. TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Based on specific site posting, log and report all incidents reported by hospital staff, physicians, patients or visitors
- Patrol interior and exterior of facility preventing unauthorized entry; in a composed manner direct individuals initiating disruption to leave the premises
- While on patrol, monitor risks such as unlocked doors, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical issues, hazardous material and additional breaches of security
- 2 way radio use and professionalism.
- Respond to alarms and emergency calls for assistance.
- Monitoring situations, cameras, property and events.
- Communicate in a truthful and receptive manner under all circumstances as well as provide information regarding the facility as requested by personnel.
- Sustain effective relationships with key stakeholders and visitors through courteous and respectful relations perceived from their viewpoint.
- Monitor and screen visitors and clients in a professional manner in order to grant access to the facility. Position:

Overtime:Eligible after 80 hours in a biweekly pay period.
Hours:Continental Rotation Schedule
Payrate: $ 20.25 /hour

Prerequisites:
- Valid Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
- Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a CSA-approved vendor)
- Valid Class 5 Driver License & must be willing to take shifts at sites within a reasonable driving distance.
- English (oral and written) fluency is a must
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
