Site Description: The Gananoque Municipal Marina is a beautiful deep-water port located in the heart of the 1000 Islands for vessels up to 48 feet.

Position: Security Guard | Part-Time Temporary - Gananoque Marina

Site: Gananoque Marina - 21 Bay St

Hours: Saturday and Sunday, 2100-05:00

Payrate: $20.00/hour

Overtime Method: Ontario Averaging Agreement (AA) After 88 hours bi-weekly

Note: This is a seasonal contract from June 5, 2026 until Sept 27, 2026

Job Description: 

• Proactive & reactive security patrols
• • Majority of shift will be spent conducting exterior patrols
• Response to incidents
• Lock & Secure washrooms
• Ensure no unauthorized individuals are on site after 22:00
• Liaise with Paladin & the Marina Coordinator to ensure ongoing safety concerns/issues are resolved
• Assist boaters as necessary
• By-law parking enforcement
• Report writing and note taking
• • Daily shift reports
• Investigate routine incidents
• Additional Duties as Assigned

Job Requirements:

• Valid Security License for Ontario
• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
• Must have G or G2 level driver's license (or equivalent)
• Must have your own dedicated vehicle that is reliable and in good repair
• Able to stand for up to 8-12 hours per shift
• Able to complete extensive patrolling of site
• English communication (oral and written) required
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
• • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
  • Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6 month commitment to the position/availability
• Legally authorized to work in Canada

Certification Requirements (All)

First Aid and CPR - Level C Certification
Valid Ontario Security License
