Payrate: | $ 22.18/hour

Site Description:    

Maryvale is a longstanding children’s mental health treatment centre in Windsor, Ontario, providing specialized care and support for youth and families. The site features a campus-style environment focused on safety, wellbeing, privacy, and compassionate community-based services 

Key responsibilities:      

• Patrol Campus Grounds: Conduct regular rounds of campus premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security of the site. 
• Inspect and screen bags or cargo using equipment or hands 
• Perform searches of passengers with tools or by hand 
• Monitor and screen passengers through screening checkpoints and other procedures 
• Provide Customer Service: Greet and assist visitors, patients, and staff. Provide directions and ensure that guests adhere to policies and procedures. 
• Conflict Resolution: De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally. 
• Report Writing: Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately. Complete reports on incidents, breaches, and security concerns. 
• Collaboration with Treatment Centre Staff: Work closely with Centre staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved. 
• Enforce Policies: Ensure that policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed. Address any violations in a manner that upholds hospital safety standards.  

 Prerequisites:       

• Valid Security License for the province of Ontario   
• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)  
• 1+ years of relevant security experience
• English (oral and written) fluency is a must   
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)   
• Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position   
• Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability   
• Authorized to legally work in Canada
