Position: Field Supervisor
Location: Chicago - local area + suburbs
Schedule: Must be flexible and available for all days/shifts
Pay: $45K
Requirements:
Active PERC
Valid driver's license
Clean driving record
Own, reliable vehicle
20-hour unarmed security training certificate
Travel to the Greater Chicago area + surrounding suburbs
3+ years security supervisor experience
Background check clearance
Pre-employment drug screen
Active FOID (strongly preferred)
Own personal firearm (strongly preferred)
40-hour armed security training certificate (strongly preferred)
Primary Purpose and Function
The primary purpose and responsibility of a Field Supervisor includes all Rules and Regulations that of a Security Officer, in addition to, but not limited to the following:
To act as a liaison between Operations, Field Assigned Personnel, and various inner-departmental functions within the branch, to include but not be limited to: supervising personnel, fielding calls, scheduling, payroll, and billing. The Field Supervisor will assist with the day-to-day operational and administrative activities to ensure the branch office and field accounts are operating with maximum efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Comply with company Code of Conduct, Policies, Procedures, and Safety Protocols and assure compliance of each by all field assigned subordinates.
- Complete site checks and document/record findings via computerized application.
- Inspect field assigned personnel to ensure Handbook Policies and Post Orders are followed.
- Inspect worksites for safety hazards and risk to security staff.
- Investigate and complete reports related to incidents and/or accidents.
- Deliver new-hire orientation, training, and on-going educational developmental programs.
- Aid in the retention of field personnel while ensuring that each staff member is treated with dignity and respect.
- Coach employees and administer disciplinary actions, as necessary at the direction of Branch Management.
- Stand post when a suitable security officer cannot be scheduled due to call offs, no-call, no-show, vacations, holidays, etc., but never to exceed more than fifty percent (50%) of time in any given workweek.
- Respond to any/all communications regarding call-off or no-show in accordance with Company policy.
- Communicate with field officers regarding scheduling, staffing, equipment, record keeping, and related matters, to ensure effective delivery of services.
- Prepare, discuss, and implement disciplinary notices and corrective actions.
- Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of potential security officers.
- Conduct and/or assist with new hire on-boarding, training and deployment of personnel.
- Supervise field officers to ensure that service expectations are being met through regular contact with applicable project managers, site supervisors, site leads, security officers, and clients.
- Evaluate service quality, inspect posts, and initiate corrective action in a timely manner.
- Participate in security officer performance reviews. Make recommendations for placement of personnel.
- Meet with operations management for status updates and to address actual or potential problems; provide support during client start-ups; provide input to security planning, assessments and surveys; review post orders and communicate requirements and changes to affected personnel.
- Maintain a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure that subordinate staff members and field assigned personnel understand and comply with applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Perform tasks and/or additional duties as required or requested by Company.
Education and Experience
High School graduate (some college education is preferred).
- Minimum of 3+ years of security experience is required.
- Demonstrated skills in web searching and use of Excel and Word programs.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills preferred.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
