Job Skills / Requirements

OPOTA-Certified Armed Security Officer

Location: Columbus, OH
Schedule: Days and shifts vary
Pay: $25 per hour

Do you hold a current OPOTA certification and take pride in your professionalism? 

We’re looking for reliable and observant Armed Security Officers to join our Columbus-based team. This role offers consistent weekday and weekend hours, a supportive environment, and the opportunity to protect and serve in a highly visible position.

What You’ll Do:

• Patrol assigned interior/exterior areas by foot or vehicle
• Monitor surroundings and report suspicious activity
• Respond quickly to incidents in line with company policy and use-of-force guidelines
• Write detailed reports and maintain daily activity logs (DARs)
• Enforce site policies, post orders, and client rules
• Support customer service needs at front desks, loading docks, or other key locations
• Stay informed on site-specific emergency protocols

What You Need:

• Current OPOTA certification
• Personal firearm, level 2+ holster, and duty belt
• Firearm permit
• Armed security experience
• Ability to obtain the OH guard card
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong written communication for report writing
• Reliable transportation to and from the site
• Ability to pass a background check

Bonus If You Have:

• Military background or relevant college education
• Law enforcement
• Customer service skills
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (if required for the post)
• Ability to clear a drug screen (if required for the post)

Education Requirements (All)

HS Diploma
GED or H.S. Equivalent

Certification Requirements (All)

OH Guard Card
CURRENT OPOTA 20 Hours Firearms Certificate
Personal firearm ownership
OPOTA Certification
