Job Skills / Requirements

High-End Retail Security Officer       

Location: New York, NY   

Schedule: Overnight Rotating Schedule (Must Be Fully Available for a Changing Weekly Schedule)   

Pay: $18.00 per hour       

About the Role

We are seeking polished, observant, and customer-focused Security Officers to protect luxury retail environments and ensure a secure and welcoming atmosphere for clients, staff, and visitors. This position requires exceptional professionalism, strong situational awareness, and the ability to represent both the security provider and the luxury brand with discretion and confidence.       

Please note: This position operates on a rotating schedule.        

Security Officers must be fully available for a schedule that changes from week to week, including different shifts, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.       

Security Officers in high-end retail settings play a dual role: safeguarding valuable merchandise and assets, while enhancing the client experience through calm, courteous, and service-oriented conduct.       

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible yet discreet security presence on the sales floor, greeting clients and employees with professionalism and courtesy.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and key access points to deter theft, unauthorized entry, or disorderly conduct.
• Conduct regular patrols of the sales floor, fitting rooms, storage areas, and perimeter zones.
• Quickly assess and respond to suspicious behavior, emergencies, or safety concerns, following proper escalation protocols.
• Support store operations, including opening and closing procedures, alarm testing, and escorting valuables or deliveries.
• Prepare clear, accurate, and timely incident and daily activity reports.
• Communicate effectively with store management, law enforcement, and security teams.
• Promote a secure and welcoming shopping environment that aligns with the prestige of the luxury brand.
• Represent the employer’s image and the client’s brand values with discretion, tact, and integrity at all times.

Qualifications

Required:       

• Valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience as a security officer in a post assignment.
• Outstanding professional appearance, demeanor, and communication skills.
• Ability to remain composed and observant in fast-paced or high-pressure situations.
• Availability for a rotating schedule, including varying shift times, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred:       

• High-end or luxury retail experience (e.g., designer boutiques, flagship stores, or premium department stores).
• Prior security or loss prevention experience in retail, hospitality, or corporate environments.
