Rate of Pay: $51,700-$57,700 depending on licensure
Schedule: 40 hrs/wk with flexible and varied scheduling, but will include some evenings and as well as inclusion in an on-call rotation
Job Summary
CEDARS Clinical Services team provides therapeutic services for children, youth, and families in CEDARS care, as well as clinical consultation and support for programs and direct care staff to best meet client needs. This position will be embedded within the Pioneers Center Emergency Shelter, which serves as a crisis stabilization service to help stabilize and provide temporary placement for adolescent youth with a variety of mental and behavioral health needs.
This clinical position will be provide crisis support, safety assessment and planning, case consultation, and therapeutic interventions for youth temporarily placed in Emergency Shelter. The therapist will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team and coordinate with any external providers to help stabilize the crisis and mental health needs of youth in care, and support them in transitioning successfully to a more permanent placement.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop crisis and safety plans as well as engage in Relapse Prevention Planning
- Provide direct counseling services
- Monitor the achievement of goals for assigned clients and families
- Function as an effective member of the interdisciplinary team
- Provide intensive clinical support to assigned programs to ensure a therapeutic environment for all clients
- Work closely with the CEDARS emergency shelter to provide crisis stabilization services to youth in care
Requirements
- Must possess a genuine care and concern for children and families
- Must meet the requirement for licensure for mental health practice in Nebraska
- Must be fully licensed (LMHP) or a highly qualified provisionally licensed applicant (PLMHP) with relevant clinical experience or eligible to apply for licensure within 30 days of hire.
- Two or more years of experience working with children, youth, and families is preferred
- Strong clinical skills in evidence based treatments
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
- Knowledge of trauma informed care
- Autonomous worker who can manage time wisely
- Organized and able to maintain client files
- A collaborative team member who enjoys building relationships with others
